# My First Blog Post

Welcome to my _new blog_ where I share my thoughts on web design and collect resources that inspire my work. Here, I will be share my learning journey and document my notes for future reference.

## What I’ve accomplished

1. **Figma Design**: After spending hours watching videos on YouTube for inspiration, I decided to make a blog as my first project. This can then be used to document my learning journey and keep structured notes to refer back to. I designed a landing page for the blog site on Figma to get the ball rolling.

2. **Domain Purchased**: I purchased and hosting plan with Hostinger that offered a domain registration. I hav since registered another domain for the blog.

3. **Loaded WordPress**: I have installed WordPress onto the blog domain. I have played around with themes and I am struggling to get the desired outcome. I feel restricted by the ‘free’themes to get my site as ive designed it on figma.

## What’s Next

I have been reading reddit posts about ‘Carbon Fields’, a free WordPress custom fields library. I will continue to use WordPress before looking into another CMS or going fully custom.
